Links are an incredibly important part of creating a high quality blog post. They not only boost SEO, but also give readers additional context. We give you three ways to automatically add links to blog posts…

Good to know: This article explains how you can automatically add links into your blog post. You can always add links manually after your blog is generated.

Add External Links

Including external links into your blog post is a great way to give your readers (and search engines) more context which improves the quality of your blog post and helps boost SEO.

You can add links to external websites into your blog post simply by clicking the “Add External Links” option.

This will enable our AI to identify good places in your blog post to insert an external link and then it will go search the internet to find the perfect link.

Add Internal Links

You can also add links from your own (or any particular) website into your blog post by simply checking the “Add Internal Links” check box and select one of the internal webpages you have added in the drop down box.

Additional Info: When you add an internal website, all the webpages on your website will be scanned by our AI to understand what each webpage is about so it can make an informed decision on how and where to best include an internal link into a blog post.

Adding internal websites

To add an internal website (to which to add internal links from) click the “Add internal website” button.

This will bring up the Add Internal Website dialog where you can enter the domain URL of the website you wish to add internal links from.

Next, enter the domain URL for the website you want add.

Then, you can optionally add filters to control which webpages get scanned by clicking the “Scan entire website” switch. This is helpful if you have a large website (over 500 webpages) and want more control of which webpages get scanned and can be used for internal links.

Here you can add any paths (i.e. website URLs) you want to include and/or exclude. For example if you add the paths /blog and /resources to the Include Paths option, then only webpages whose path contains /blog or /resources will be included.

Important: Our system will scan a maximum of 500 webpages from your site. If you have more than 500 webpages, it’s advised to add a filter to have better control of which webpages get scanned.

Once you have added your website URL and optionally specified any paths to include/exclude, click the “Add Internal Website” button.

Important: Please note that you can only add a certain number of internal websites based on your subscription plan. Once an internal website is added it cannot be deleted.

This will kick off the process of the AI scanning your website and all the specified webpages. This process usually only takes about a minute, but can take up to 10 minutes depending on how large your website is and how long it takes certain webpages to render.

Good to know: All webpages get fully rendered before being scanned so no worries if your website is javascript heavy. The scanning will still see your entire webpage.

Editing / updating internal websites

Once you have added your internal website, you can edit it to either remove webpages and/or rescan to fetch any new webpages.

To edit your internal website, select it from the dropdown box and click the pencil icon next to it.

This will bring up a dialog where you can view all the internal webpages from your website.

If there is a webpage you want to remove, simply hover over it and click the X icon to the right.

Important: Deleting a webpage is permanent.

You can also add a filter if you decide you only want to include a particular path or set of webpages by clicking the Add a Filter button.

This will bring up a filter dialog where you can specify which webpages you want to include/exclude similar to before when adding an internal website.

To rescan for new webpages click the ellipsis (three little dots) button to the top right and click “Rescan”.

This will rescan your website to look for any additional webpages that have been added since the last scan.

Important: Each internal website will only scan a maximum of 500 webpages (this includes webpages that you have deleted).

Adding internal links to your blog post

Once you have added an internal website you just need to select the website in the drop down box to include internal links.

Important: By default, the AI will only add internal links into your blog post if it finds one or more links that are relevant. If you generate a blog post that is not relevant to any of the webpages on the website, then the AI will generate a paragraph to be appended to the blog post that includes one or more of the links from the selected website.

Include Links From Description

This option will tell our AI to scan all the links listed in the YouTube video description and include one or more of them into the blog in a natural way.

This option is only available when a YouTube video link is used to generate a blog post.

You can further customize which links get added by using custom instructions.

Add Other Links

You can also specify any other links that you want to be automatically included into the blog post by clicking the Add a link button…

…and then inputting a URL and a description of the link.

Good to know: When you add a URL it will automatically be checked to make sure it’s valid along with attempting to generate a description so you do not have to.

Tip: Be sure the description field is accurate and relevant. This is what the AI will use to understand your link.
